The latest call from the Christian Nationalists is “Trust in T***p,” as if no one was wise enough to know the acronym would work out to TIT. There are a few people who have labeled Mango Mussolini as “Yam Tits,” so in a way this does fit the man.

The cult is all in. The masked ICE agents throwing both citizens and non-citizens into unmarked vans and hauling them off to black sites or prisons outside the country and the threat of the removal of habeas corpus does not seem to bother the faithful flock. Jesus is my savior and T***p is my president.

In November of 2024, just after the election in the U.S., Pastor Russell Moore wrote a piece entitled: “How to Get Through the Next Four Years.” The tagline is: “The nonstop news cycle will be crazy. You don’t have to be.”

We have a spiritual problem as much as a political problem. The country is being overtaken by fascists, supported 100% by today’s Republican Party…and we are left searching for clarity and answers and thirsting for enlightenment.

Moore stays anchored in his commitment to The Christ; this works for him. However, many of us are not avid Bible readers and may even be disgusted by the contemporary pseudo-Christianity we see parading around in the name of Jesus.

While I do not agree with Moore that Bible stories will lead us to salvation…any more than reading Mother Goose or Brothers Grimm, I do feel that contemplative (Stoic) thinking is required.

Tariffically Insane: Brandolini's Law

Take the case of the “tariffs.” “The most beautiful word in the dictionary.” Tariffs were supposed to:

1. Bring manufacturing back to the U.S.

2. Bring in trillions of dollars

3. Create millions of jerbs

4. Eliminate income taxes (External Revenue Service)

5. Fill in the blank?

Instead, we have gotten a circle jerk of on again, off again ‘policy’ that tells us, “Just forget all that other stuff we were talking about…we are ‘making deals’ now.” Huh? What about the millions of jerbs and the trillions of dollars and the manufacturing Renaissance? I thought the magical tariffs were going to take us to the Golden Age?

The reality is that the Christian Nationalists have already achieved their 3.5%...in fact it is likely closer to 5-6%. It is up to the rest of us now to accomplish the same. Massive, non-violent protests are required if we are to rescue the nation from the current fascist movement. We need our 3.5%+.

We are up against a massive money machine. The players in Project 2025 and the Council for National Policy comprise the top 0.01% of wealth in the nation. But history has proven that posterboard and paint can and does effect change. We can defeat Russell Vought.

Numbers are the answer. They simply cannot put 12+ million of us in their concentration camps. Even if Congress grows a spine and they move to disband it (Congress), they just don’t have the resources to put 12+ million Americans in camps…either here or El Salvador or Libya.

We can overwhelm the Heritage Foundation by bringing along disaffected voters who got played by the con in 2024. This means no more rallies that engage in culture war bullshit. Keep the topics to simple things like healthcare, social security, Medicaid and Medicare, veteran’s benefits and education, etc., etc.

We need the mother with a special needs kid who is at risk of losing the help they need in their local school district. We need the veteran who might lose their long-term care. And we need an economic message that does not perpetuate the myth of neoliberalism.

Focus on Corruption

Previous fascist takeovers have been defeated with large numbers in protest coupled with a strong message regarding the corruption of the regime. There is a lot to choose from right now. The meme coin and crypto corruption, the recently added Qatari $400M plane (Qatari is an ally of Iran and funder of Hamas), the “Gold Card” grift and the multitude of other grifts that T***p uses to fleece his CULT.

The news tells us this is all “normal.” The MSM has failed the public as they continue to feed the insanity in their quest for clicks and eyeballs. Moore tells us to stay informed but not be crazy (in a relationship with The Christ). This is a tall order, with Jesus or not.
